Handbook emission factors for road transport (HBEFA)

The Handbook Emission Factors for Road Transport (HBEFA) provides emission factors for all current vehicle categories (PC, LDV, HDV and motor cycles), each divided into different categories, for a wide variety of traffic situations. The latest version 2.1 dates from February 2004. In version 2.1, the emission factors of the HDV (heavy duty vehicles) are completely revised. But also the emission factors of the other vehicle categories were reexamined (mainly LDV [light duty vehicles] and two-wheelers). New measurements for all vehicle categories up to EURO-3 were included.

Release Dates

Version 2.1 (28. Feb. 2004) is an update of version 1.2 dating from January 1999. This new version 2.1 contains data for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, whilst Version 1.2 was published for Germany and Switzerland only. For Austria, the previous version is version 1.1A and dates from 1998.
